Did Tom Brady’s Diet Result In Super Bowl Success

How much did Tom Brady’s diet contribute to his, and the New England Patriots, unbelievable comebackTom Brady's Diet win in Super Bowl 51?

Some are saying it was a major factor in helping a 39 year old quarterback, who has been in the league for 17 years, still think and perform like he was in his late 20s.

Here’s what I’ve been able to find on the internet. These are direct statements from his hired chief Allen Campbell:

Highlights of Tom Brady’s Diet

“So 80 percent of what they eat is vegetables. [I buy] the freshest vegetables. If it’s not organic, I don’t use it. And whole grains: brown rice, quinoa, millet, beans. The other 20 percent is lean meats: grass-fed organic steak, duck every now and then, and chicken. As for fish, I mostly cook wild salmon.”

“It’s very different than a traditional American diet. But if you just eat sugar and carbs—which a lot of people do—your body is so acidic, and that causes disease. Tom recently outed Frosted Flakes and Coca-Cola. I love that he did that. Sugar is the death of people.”

“No white sugar. No white flour. No MSG. I’ll use raw olive oil, but I never cook with olive oil. I only cook with coconut oil. Fats like canola oil turn into trans fats. … I use Himalayan pink salt as the sodium. I never use iodized salt.

“[Brady] doesn’t eat nightshades, because they’re not anti-inflammatory. So no tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, or eggplants. Tomatoes trickle in every now and then, but just maybe once a month. I’m very cautious about tomatoes. They cause inflammation.

“What else? No coffee. No caffeine. No fungus. No dairy.”

“My philosophy is that a plant-based diet has the power to reverse and prevent disease. In the wintertime, it’s going to be more red meat and more soups and root vegetables. And in the summer, they eat lighter, so I’ll make raw lasagna and more salads.”

  1. Mainly a plant-based diet

  2. Lean meats are grass feed not corn feed

  3. No White Sugar, which creates an acidic environment

  4. No White Flour, which creates an acidic environment

  5. No Nightshade Foods, which can cause inflammation

While most of us can’t afford to have our own private chef do our cooking, we can all make changes in the types of foods that we eat to optimize our health.

Let’s stop purchasing foods that contribute to the life style diseases that are creating a health care crisis here in America.

And let’s thank Tom Brady for not just leading the New England Patriots to victory, but helping to model good eating habits that optimize human performance.
