Mainstream Medicine Finally Gets It Regarding Cardiovascular Disease

Posted by Dan Hammer //
 05/15/2018

For decades mainstream medicine claimed that your diet played no role in your risk for cardiovascular disease.Mainstream Medicine Thankfully, that has changed.

Back in 1959 when heart attacks reached epidemic levels, the FDA refused to allow claims that diet affected cardiovascular disease. Below is one of the warnings published in 1959 by the FDA making it illegal to claim any type of benefit from a healthier diet:

“The advisability of making extensive changes in the nature of the dietary fat intake of the people of this country has not been demonstrated.

It is therefore the opinion of the Food and Drug Administration that any claim, direct or implied, in the labeling of fats and oils or other fatty substances offered to the general public that they will prevent, mitigate or cure diseases of the heart or arteries is false or misleading, and constitutes misbranding within the meaning of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.”

Federal Register – December 12, 1959 and reaffirmed by the FDA on May 18, 1965

Fast forward to 2017 when the Journal of the American Medical Association released new guidelines as it applies to diet and cardiovascular disease. Here are a couple of excerpts: Read More →

What Does It Mean to Have a Leaky Gut

Posted by Dan Hammer //
 04/07/2017

While the medical community does not recognize a leaky gut as a major contributing factor to all sorts Leaky Gutof health issues, there is a growing body of science showing how a leaky gut, or what is called intestinal permeability, is wreaking havoc on people’s health.

This health concern is not new.

In fact, Hippocrates recognized it when he stated,

“All Disease Begins In The Gut.”

Ideally, your intestine is designed to be a very selective barrier to everything you consume. It does this by creating what are known as “tight junctions.” As you can see in the below image created by Dr. Vincent Pedre for Happy Gut, these tight junctions are loosened so that undigested food particles, toxins, and pathogens can enter your blood stream.

Why Your Microbiome is Key to Good Health

Posted by Dan Hammer //
 03/22/2017

In 2001 the term Microbiome was coined by a researcher named Joshua Lederberg. The term applies Microbiometo the 100 trillion microbial cells that each person carries on and in their body.

Whether you believe in evolution or Creation there is a symbiotic relationship between these microbial cells and human cells. A symbiotic relationship that either leads to good health or poor health.

In fact when you look in the mirror what you see is your human expression of your human cells. However, if you had the eyes of a powerful microscope you would see a world of microbial cells that outnumbered your human cells by a factor of 10.

Which has lead researchers in the area of the microbiome to use the phrase “We Are Only 10% Human!”

Why is this important?

Because the makeup of your micriobiome significantly, if not entirely, impacts your health and wellness. To the point where every major disease and illness today has a link back to your microbiome.

Arteriosclerosis and Atherosclerosis – General Overview!

Posted by Dan Hammer //
 02/15/2017

There is a lot of confusion between arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis but one thing is certain, combinedArteriosclerosis they account for nearly 75% of all deaths from heart disease!

Here are the sobering facts:

  • 735,000 Americans have heart attacks each year

  • 120,000 Americans die from heart attacks each year

  • 787,00 Americans die each year from all forms of cardiovascular disease

  • 2,150 Americans die each day from cardiovascular disease issues

That’s 1 American dying every 90 seconds!

Most people are familiar with heart attacks or strokes. You likely have a family member or friend who either suffers from the consequences of one or has died due to one. Because of this a great deal of emphasis is placed on preventing heart attacks and strokes. While this is important, the real emphasis should be put upon preventing arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis because they are the underlying cause of heart attacks and strokes.

Thermography – Early Detection of Breast Cancer

Posted by Dan Hammer //
 10/01/2016

Thermography is using thermal infrared imaging to detect health concerns like breast cancer. Here’s theBreast Thermography background on how this works.

In 400 BC the Greek physician Hippocrates wrote “In whatever part of the body excess of heat or cold is felt, the disease is there to be discovered.”

Temperature has long been established as a health indicator. It’s why when you see a doctor the nurse will do three things:

  • take your blood pressure,

  • take your heart rate,

  • and take your temperature.

If your temperature is elevated, then there’s a health concern that something is going on in your body that needs to be addressed. But for some reason that same application is not applied to looking at a thermal scan of your body, which is what thermography does.
