New High Blood Pressure Guidelines

New high blood pressure guidelines were established on Monday, November 13th 2017, which means that New High Blood Pressure Guidelinesover tens of millions of Americans woke up that day to having a high blood pressure issue.

The old standard for having high blood pressure was 140 over 90.

The new high blood pressure guidelines are now 130 over 80. This means that if your systolic blood pressure (first number) is at 130 or higher and your diastolic blood pressure (second number) is at 80 or higher you now have Stage 1 hypertension.

These new parameters were jointly announced by the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and nine other health professional organizations.

History of Garlic


Garlic belongs to the Allium family of vegetables which also includes onions, chives, shallots and leeks. It’s a perennial herb with a bulb that can contain 5 – 15 cloves.

While it has been used for centuries as a culinary and medicinal herb, it wasn’t until 1844 that a German chemist named Theodor Wertheim was able to distill the pungent substance in this herb. He called it allyl.

In 1848 Louis Pasteur demonstrated that allyl could inhibit the growth of bacteria. For whatever reasons, Louis Pasteur and others abandoned further research on this herb and its ability to inhibit bacterial growth. Read More →
